Every piece of furniture or homeware I make has a story to tell. Whether you know exactly what you want or have no idea where to start, we can work out a clear brief together.

I usually try to meet in person to have a chat about your idea and see the space where it will live. Here we can discuss its purpose, shape and size, and how it will be made. This is also a good time to discuss your budget, deadline and any other requirements you might have.

First consultation is always free and without obligation.

After we have agreed the brief, I will create a document with all the details of your commission. For some commissions I may include 2-3 variations on your idea to guide us toward an exact design. I will then provide you with a PDF document demonstrating the design of your piece where I will detail all the features we have discussed, the price, materials and finished dimensions.

I will offer a number of revisions to fine-tune the design with you until it is exactly right.

A design fee of 5-10% of the final estimated cost is payable at this stage to develop your piece.

Once the design has been approved and is within budget, we will agree a delivery date. I am happy to keep you up to date with regular photos or offer you a visit to the workshop during the build. If you’d rather keep it a surprise until the delivery date, that’s fine too.

A deposit of 50% is payable at this stage. The remaining 50% is due prior to delivery.

For smaller pieces I am happy to arrange a white glove courier to deliver your piece.

Larger pieces, or anything requiring an element of site work and fitting os always delivered by myself in person.

Delivery costs are calculated during the design phase depending on the size and requirements of your piece.

All my furniture is finished in hard wax oils made from natural ingredients. This allows your piece to age gracefully with the general wear of life.

It also allows for easy spot repair and maintenance. I will provide specific aftercare instructions for your piece on delivery.

A refinishing service is available for an arranged quotation.
